About Our Grants

Community Impact Grants were created by the Community Foundation of West Tennessee in 2016 to serve as funding opportunities for local nonprofits and funds to help make an impact in our area. Since its inception, we have awarded $336,444 back into the community through these grants. Previous organizations awarded have been in the arts, education, healthcare, legal services, and more.

Previous Guidelines

Eligibility

Eligibility & Application Period

Community Impact Grants support projects that benefit the people of West Tennessee (excluding Shelby County). Applicants must have 501(c)(3) status or be a current, active fund of the Community Foundation in good standing to apply. Grantees may not apply for funding for the same project more than two consecutive years.

The next cycle of Community Impact Grants will be in Spring 2025. We will begin accepting grant proposals in February 2025.

The Community Foundation of West Tennessee awarded $75,000 in grants to eight organizations for the 2024-2025 Community Impact Grant cycle. This year's award recipients are:

All Saints Immigration Services
Boys and Girls Club of Jackson
Habitat for Humanity Jackson
Jackson International Food and Art Festival
Jackson Symphony Association
Regional Inter-Faith Association (RIFA)
United Way of West Tennessee
WRAP (Wo/Men's Resource and Rape Assistance Program)

"With help from the grant, we have served 74 clients and their families during the grant period (July 1, 2022 to June 30, 2023), which doubled from 35 immigrant families in the previous year. We were aware of the need for services to assist victims of crime and domestic violence in their immigration cases, but we could not have predicted that those have become over 40% of our cases in the last 12 months."
